SCRAMBLE LEAGUE DRAFT PROCESS
Draft Process and Team Management
The Scramble League is designed to foster competitive and fun play for all participants. Here's the full process:
1. Draft Process
-
At the start of every season, the league will hold a draft to form or adjust teams.
-
Captains will draft players in the following order:
-
First Round: All starting players are drafted.
-
Second Round (Optional): If there are enough participants, captains may draft a reserve player to serve as a backup.
-
The draft uses a snake format, where the captain with the best handicap drafts last in the first round and first in the second round (and so on).
-
Winning team in the previous season can retain their STARTER and forfeit there first round pick in the next draft, everyone else redrafts
-
2. Role of Reserve Players
-
Reserve players are drafted after all starting players.
-
Activation: A reserve player steps in only if a starting player is unavailable for a match.
-
Minimum Matches: Once activated, the reserve player will serve as the starter for a minimum of 3 matches.
3. Handling Unresponsiveness
-
Captains or players who fail to respond to league communications within 48 hours will receive a warning.
-
Persistent unresponsiveness may result in:
-
A new captain being assigned to the team.
-
A player forfeiting their spot on the team.
-
4. Team Continuity and Retention
-
Captains can retain their teams indefinitely, provided they remain active and responsive.
-
If a captain becomes inactive or fails to meet participation requirements, the league admin will:
-
Assign a new captain to the team.
-
Redistribute players during the next draft, if necessary.
-
5. Team Expansion Review
-
Before each season, the league admin or a designated committee will review the player registration numbers to assess whether team expansion is feasible.
-
Factors considered during the review include:
-
Total number of registered players.
-
Availability of captains.
-
Overall league structure.
-
-
If expansion is approved:
-
New captains will be recruited.
-
Additional teams will be formed before the next draft.
-
6. Match Forfeits and Substitutions
-
If a reserve player is unavailable when needed, the team will forfeit the match.
-
Captains are responsible for notifying the league admin about any player absences in advance.
This structure ensures that the league remains organized, competitive, and fair for all participants. By maintaining clear communication and active participation, we can create an enjoyable experience for everyone involved!
